Kamra + Claude

Run your hotel with Claude.

Connect Claude to Kamra in about five minutes. Then ask, in plain language, for arrivals, room assignments, folios and the small jobs that fill a shift.

  • About 5 minutes
  • Open source and free
  • Runs on your server
The open-source alternative to Apaleo

Same idea. Software you own.

Apaleo showed what a PMS can do with Claude. Kamra brings it to open source: no subscription, your own server, and every module in the box.

How it works

Three steps, no code.

  1. ConnectIn Kamra, open Kamra Agent and press Connect Claude. Claude opens with your hotel's connector already filled in.
  2. ApproveSign in with your Kamra user and pick the property. Claude can now do what your role allows, nothing more.
  3. AskTalk like you would to your desk. Claude reads first, shows you the plan, and changes data only when you say so.
Things to ask

"Who's arriving today, and what do they owe?"

→ Arrivals with balances front_desk_today

"Assign rooms for tomorrow's arrivals"

→ Proposed rooms, applied when you confirm assign_rooms_preview

"Quote a deluxe for Friday to Sunday with breakfast"

→ Live price from the pricing engine quote

"Check Mr. Rao into 204"

→ Check-in, with readiness checks first check_in

→ Charge on the guest's folio post_stay_charge

"Which rooms on the second floor are still dirty?"

→ Housekeeping queue hk_queue

"Send Priya a payment link for her balance"

→ Payment link through your gateway send_payment_link

"Run tonight's night audit"

→ Precheck, then End of Day run_night_audit
You stay in control

You decide who, and what.

MCP Read and MCP Manage

Give each person AI access: look only, or make changes. No role, no access. Changes apply on the next request.

Property switches

Turn AI off for a property, or make it read-only for everyone while your team learns.

Ask before writing

Every tool tells Claude whether it changes data, so you can set writes to need your approval.

A full trail

Each call lands in Activity under the staff member's name. Revoke any connection in one click.

Claude never sets prices or taxes. They always come from Kamra's pricing engine, and a user can never do more through Claude than they can in Kamra.

Guest data

Privacy by design.

Kamra runs on your server, so guest records stay with you. Claude only sees what a task needs. For guest data, use a Claude plan with a Data Processing Agreement.

  • Use a business Claude plan with a DPA (Team, Enterprise or API)
  • Give staff MCP Read until they need to make changes
  • Keep refunds, rate edits and cancellations human-approved
  • Try new workflows on a test property first
Questions

Straight answers

Can Claude run my hotel?

Claude can run the day-to-day work of a hotel on Kamra: arrivals, room assignment, check-in and out, folios, payments, housekeeping, POS and the night audit. Kamra's MCP server gives it 116 governed tools. It acts as a named member of staff, within that person's role, and every action lands in the activity log.

Is Kamra an open-source alternative to Apaleo?

Yes. Like Apaleo, Kamra lets Claude work in your PMS over MCP, with MCP Read and MCP Manage roles to control who may use it. Unlike Apaleo, Kamra is open source (AGPL-3.0) and free, runs on your own server or Frappe Cloud, and includes POS, housekeeping and a booking engine.

Which Claude apps work with Kamra?

Claude on the web, the Claude desktop app and Claude Code connect over OAuth. Kamra's Connect Claude button opens Claude with the connector already filled in. ChatGPT, n8n and your own agents connect with OAuth or an API key.

Can Claude change my prices or taxes?

No. Rates, taxes and availability always come from Kamra's pricing engine. Claude can only call governed tools, and a hotel admin decides who may use them and whether they can make changes.

Which Claude plan should a hotel use with guest data?

Use a plan that includes a Data Processing Agreement. Anthropic offers one on its business plans (Team, Enterprise and the API); consumer plans do not include it. Check Anthropic's current terms for what applies to you.

What does it cost?

Kamra and its MCP server are free. You pay for your own server and your Claude plan. Setup help is optional, on a fixed quote.

Put Claude on your front desk.

Free and open source. Set it up yourself in minutes, or let us do it for you.
