Kamra 2.6.14
Nine releases since 2.6.5. Deposits before arrival, security deposits, day-use and request-to-book, group holds that release themselves, and a settings hub. All open source, in every install.
What changed between 2.6.5 and 2.6.14, from the operator view.
Front desk
- Deposits before arrival. Take a deposit at booking or any time before check-in, at the desk or by a payment link with the message ready to send. It confirms a held booking and counts against the bill at check-in.
- Security deposits. Collect, waive, withhold or refund a damage deposit, with the reason on record.
- Day-use, request-to-book and group holds. Book day-use from the booking screen, work a request-to-book inbox, and hold rooms for a group that release on their own when the block lapses.
- Change room from anywhere. Move a guest from the reservation or the registration card. Clean rooms come first, the price change shows before you confirm, and the reason is logged.
- A better registration card. A checklist, one-tap document capture, a money summary, and a printed card with the room number, your country's tax labels and the guest's e-signature.
- No-shows and checkout. Each property sets its own no-show policy, the rate is locked at booking, and checkout waits until every bill is settled.
Rates and billing
- Small-group villa rates. A whole villa can charge a small midweek party per head instead of the full house rate.
- Firmer rate rules. Weekend rate floors, tiered cancellation, peak-date rules, and no more guests than the room sleeps.
- Cleaner books. Every folio charge reaches the ledger, a company's payment clears what it owes, there is a city-ledger payment screen, and voiding a charge asks for a reason.
Restaurant, privacy and admin
- POS straight to the kitchen. Kitchen order tickets are accepted and printed when an order is sent.
- Privacy. WhatsApp and assistant messages clear after a period you choose, children can be recorded on the register, and AI tools no longer see guest phone numbers or emails in their results.
- Settings hub. One place for settings, a page per module, and a Staff & access page. Admins see a banner when a newer release is out; nothing upgrades by itself.
- AI assistant. Bookings made by the assistant can't be duplicated, and every Chat and MCP action is logged.
- Security. Several security fixes since 2.6.5. See the GitHub advisories and upgrade when you can.
After you update
Run bench migrate. Data you already have is kept. New properties default to 90-day message retention; existing ones keep everything until you set a period.
